Muffled, fevered shouts from a voice that was growing hoarse. But the screams weren't filled with terror but nearly demented outbursts. Each word was incomprehensible and there was nothing pitch black darkness to look at. Some thumping and pounding noises could be heard before the sound of tires loudly screeching suddenly brought them to a halt. Things went silent for a few moments before a pair of figures were seen standing over the camera. Two long haired men in dark jackets and black jeans. One man's jacket was made of thicker material and a hood was resting over his head where both dark and bleached blonde colored hair hung out. The larger second man's hood was along his shoulders but it was too dark and obscure to make out his face. Both men reached towards the camera and seemed to be grasping onto something. They carelessly yanked a shrouded body out of the darkness and dropped it roughly to the ground. What they had reached into was the trunk of black car they had popped open. And what they had dumped like a sack of rocks onto the hard ground was a man bound tightly by his arms and legs with thick ropes. He was coiled up so tightly that he could do very little but wiggle on the ground like a helpless worm. The landscape was barren and the moon was out. The Chihuahuan Desert, west of Texas. The side of the man's face was pressed against the sand and his dull, faded clothing was dusted with the granular material. His face couldn't be seen from the camera angle but he had medium length brown hair and facial scruff. He managed to roll over onto his back and his shouting continued although this time he could be heard clearly. A great deal of cursing and threats. The two men stood over him and stared with frozen, blank expressions and were unfazed by the promises of bodily harm.
Seth Rollins: Could you...?
The screaming was abruptly cut off as Roman Reigns sent his boot against the side of the bound man's head. His skull dropped and he went silent as Seth Rollins pulled his hood down. Now it was possible to get a few words out without having to shout.
Seth Rollins: I'm actually somewhat impressed that he managed to find us. He came up to a few of the lower ranked members and started screaming about how "The Ascension will rise" and other such...nonsense. Attacking and clawing at them like some kind of animal.
Rollins knelt down and looked the man over before glancing over his shoulder at Reigns.
Seth Rollins: There's something so tragic but beautiful when someone's mind completely snaps. Don't you think?
Reigns didn't respond and continued to stare down at the raving lunatic who he had just booted in the face.
Seth Rollins: There are lot of sick people in this world. Present company included. I thought tying him down and tossing him into the trunk of a car would at least give him a little scare. But it looks like he's too far gone for that, isn't it? Kind of takes the fun out of things. You need help my friend. Serious mental care.
Man: ...The...Ascension...will rise. You are nothing...more than...false idols. Conor O'Brian...he speaks the truth.
The crazed man weakly managed to say as he cleared his throat and narrowed his eyes into a glare. He remained pressed against the sand like an insect that had just been stepped on.
Seth Rollins: Hm. Well, that's troubling. It looks like if you put a mad man in front of a camera and allow him to rant that SOMEONE is going to end up listening. In my own personal diagnosis Conor O'Brian is in desperate need of psychiatric help himself. He has an obvious case of dissociative identity disorder. I'm honestly curious as to what happened in his life to make him descend into becoming a full on crazy. Very intriguing. I guess I'll never be able to find out as he won't be doing much talking after I'm finished with him. I'll give him points for persistence though. I would have thought after the beating you gave him that we wouldn't be seeing much of him. It's AMAZING when you consider the mind's power over the body. Despite how savage of a beat down you gave him he is so deranged and lost in his disillusions that he can't comprehend how outmatched he is. Amazing but also incredibly sad.
Man: ...False idols...
The captive sputtered out through pants.
Seth Rollins: Yes, I heard you the first time. We've never claimed to be idols or prophets, friend. We're here to ensure that injustice is stomped out wherever it may lurk. By my accounts we've been doing a pretty admirable job. Conor O'Brian speaks about society's ills but doesn't actually do anything to change them. In fact, I can't really make any sense out of anything he says but, then again, he is completely insane so that explains a lot of that. When we see a wrong-doing we actually head out and extinguish it. Conor just...confines in his imaginary friend.
Rollins sighed and shook his head in pity at the cult-like devotion of the imbecile on the ground.
Seth Rollins: We see and we hear everything. Everything. So when someone like Conor O'Brian says that we aren't important...we have to show him the error of his ways. And although I don't believe gaining a following is his M.O. I'm going to make sure that more people like you don't sprout up. Despite about how he goes on about his grand designs and masterful plots I truthfully don't take in stock in his words. Just ramblings of a man who lost his sanity somewhere far, far in the past. I would say he suffers from delusional disorder as well. Grandiose type if I were to wager a guess. Just a very, very fragile psyche. But we won't allow an army of the misguided and sick to start sprouting up. Can't have that, can we?
The former Tag Team Champion dusted his hands off and nudged the cretin lightly on the shoulder with the tip of his boot.
Seth Rollins: Two weeks ago Roman physically dominated him. This week, I'm going to put the fear of God into his heart. Or, more fittingly, the fear of The Shield. And we'll proven that even the absolute raving, frothing and mentally ill can be converted into a believer.
Reigns snatched a few of the ropes that constricted the annoyance's body and harshly tossed him back into the trunk of the car.
Seth Rollins: I have a few other methods I want to give a shot. Being crazy is not an acceptable excuse to not be afraid. It might give me some extra motivation to see what makes Conor tick as well...
The trunk was slammed shut.
